Another keen contest is anticipated at today’s Guyana Oil Company (Guyoil) sponsored Golf tournament at the Lusignan Course.
Officials of the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) disclosed that 24 players had registered by midday yesterday and a few others should have signed up by the end of yesterday to compete in the annual event. Several young players have been showing tremendous form and they will be looking to upstage their more experienced counterparts.
According to reports, the Course is in excellent condition especially the rough and the freeway.
Among the players expected to be in action are Ian Gouveia, Robert Hanoman, Cleveland Mentore, Patrick Prashad, John Tracey, Mike Mangal, Colin Ming, Raj Sankar, Christine Sukhram, Joaan Deo, Alfred Mentore, Maurice Solomon, Neil Burges and Melissa Humphrey.
Cleveland Mentore won last weekend’s Neal and Massy tournament with Deo finishing second and Hanoman third with Clifford Reis being nearest to the pin.
There will be the usual shotgun start at 12:30 hours.
