Republic Bank this week as part of its programme `The Power to make a Difference’ made substantial donations to a number of organisations.
The Trustees have expressed their gratitude to the bank for this generous contribution. They have also announced that Dr Ashni Singh, The Minister of Finance had written in September to say that approval had been granted for the Theatre Guild of Guyana Ltd to be prescribed as an institution of national character under Section 35 of the Income Tax Act. Accordingly, all donations are deductible for tax purposes.
