A post-mortem examination on 45-year-old Kamal Doonwah, who was repeatedly stabbed on Saturday, has revealed that she died as a result of a stab wound to the heart and her husband remains in police custody.
Doonwah, a domestic worker of Bladen Hall Squatting Area, ECD died around midnight on Saturday after being stabbed several times allegedly by her husband.
It was not until several hours later that neighbours were informed of the incident by the couple’s nine-year-old daughter. Doonwah had been at the receiving end of domestic violence for several years and following the incident her husband and another woman were detained by police.
Her brother Satnarine told Stabroek News yesterday that a post-mortem examination has revealed that his sister died as a result of a stab wound to the heart. He said that she will be buried today.
