The Green Path foundation of Melanie organized a two-day workshop over the weekend to further educate youths in the East Coast community about HIV/AIDS since it was found that some young people weren’t taking the message seriously.
But there was a poor turnout by the youths at the official opening held on Saturday.
The event targeted youths from Non Pareil, Melanie Damishana, Bare Root, Paradise and Enmore and aimed to teach youths the seriousness of HIV/AIDS and their role in assisting to reduce its spread. According to a press release from the organization, the workshop took place at Dublin’s Place Melanie Damishana, East Coast Demerara.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, chairman of Green Path, Charles Griffith stated that the idea for the workshop came about as they travelled around the communities. Region Four Chairman Clement Corlette was also present at the workshop.
