Dear Editor,
I read with some degree of empathy the concerns of residents regarding their safety when the Joint Services engage bandits in the Buxton/Friendship area.
This can be avoided. All the Buxton/ Friendship residents have to do is chase the bandits from their midst and the Joint Services will not have to do battle in the area, and collateral damage would not happen. We hear no concern expressed by residents when the bandits shoot up in the place.
As one resident puts it (SN 31/10/07 page 3)”…she was in her kitchen when she started hearing gunshots which was nothing strange in the area”.
So, folks, get rid of the bandits, else the Joint Forces have to do their job which is certainly not presenting bouquets to bandits.
Yours faithfully,
S Abrams
