Guyana and Russia are in the process of finalizing several aspects of an agreement as part of a collaborative fight against trafficking in narcotics, the Government Information Agency (GINA reported yesterday.
According to GINA Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee said the agreement is now being considered by both sides and once completed it will strengthen the relationship between security ministers of both countries.
Rohee made these comments following an official visit from a Russian delegation which included Igor Ezhov, Deputy Director of Department of Latin America and the Caribbean. “So that text is now being negotiated bilaterally, we have not finished it as yet but we have no doubt that before the end of the year we should have a general agreement and to determine how we will precede with ratification and eventual signing,” he said.
