Dear Editor,
The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) will be holding consultations with the Afro Guyanese community on November 15 and 16 to address our perceived needs.
I cannot attend these meetings because of the venue chosen (ERC Secretariat in Queenstown) and I also have physics and mathematics lessons during the time these meetings are scheduled for.
ERC Chairman Juan Edghill should not have chosen that venue to hold consultations with us Afro Guyanese. He and other members of ERC Secretariat should have come to Golden Grove or Buxton and near the public schools to hold these meetings.
Going to Afro Guyanese villages would result in a wide cross section of Afro Guyanese having the opportunity to speak about the serious problems affecting us.
Yours faithfully,
Brother Mark Nigel James
