So the Chronicle, along with its pseudonym letter writers are on a shock and awe campaign against Stabroek News and Brigadier Colonel David Granger, in relation to money laundering, narcotics and criminal activities in Guyana. To me, this means that they have hit the nail with the hammer dead centre to most of Guyana’s woes.
So many bonds and other buildings are going up and no investigation is made as to the origins of financing for them. The Money Laundering Act has been in force for some time yet nobody has been charged. Since the arrest of Roger Khan execution style killings have decreased tremendously, the Phantom Squad is in disarray. All these writers are running over each other to come to the defence of this gentleman.
One can easily observe how the relationship between former police commissioner Winston Felix and the government soured when Mr Felix went after Khan that led to his international arrest. Also it is interesting to note how this government embraced former Home Affairs Minister, Ronald Gajraj, ex Police Commissioner Floyd McDonald and present Police Commissioner, Acting, Henry Greene, when their American visas were revoked. The United States does not revoke persons’ visas until an exhaustive and extensive investigation has been carried out.
David Granger’s report should not be taken lightly. His research is timely and evident and is a reminder of what all of us have known for some time now, that the state of Guyana has been criminalised.
