A Berbice man is currently a patient of the Burns Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital after he set himself alight following a misunderstanding with his wife.
Thirty-five-year-old Harrichan Dhanpaul of West Canefield, Canje Berbice was transferred from the New Amsterdam Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, Dhanpaul sustained burns to about 70% of his body. He and his wife reportedly had an argument during which Dhanpaul doused himself with a flammable liquid and set himself on fire.
