Dear Editor,
Under a dictatorship the king does whatever he wants, and so, many of those ministers, advisers and other paid officials become mere rubber stamps. So, here is what happens during the king’s reign. The rubber stamps become equally complacent, arrogant, selfish, corrupt, brutal, and they display no respect for the rule of law.
Yet these are the very people who expect ordinary citizens to respect institutions, and at the same time have regard for the rule of law. Actually, I wish to remind the king and his men – “monkey see, monkey do.” Only under a dictatorship will the king allow one of his men to whip out his gun and open fire on a citizen. Only under a dictatorship will the king not call for that individual to resign…what a horrible example to the youths.
But, is the king listening? Apparently not. No wonder why dem youths don’t care.
Yours faithfully,
Mark Benschop
