Dear Editor,
Whenever I get the opportunity, I watch CN Sharma’s Voice of the People programme on his television station, CNS Channel 6.
Over the years he has highlighted the many ills in our society in his own style and in the only way he can do it.
However, his continued abuse of the people whom he claims did not vote for him must stop. As I sat listening to his programme on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 I was stunned to hear Mr Sharma say that 85% of the people of Guyana are illiterate. I don’t know where he got his facts from but I’m certain he is wrong and he should apologise.
From time to time Mr Sharma would insult the intelligence of the Guyanese people, and many of us would just laugh it off.
It is Mr Sharma’s philosophy that every Indo-Guyanese is a supporter of the PPP and every Afro-Guyanese is a supporter of the PNC and every Guyanese who doesn’t support him is foolish and stupid, illiterate and incompetent.
I would like Mr Sharma to know that the people of Guyana are intelligent enough to know who can be their President and who cannot.
Yours faithfully,
Clive Fredericks
