Dear Editor ,
I work at a well established grocery chain here in Midwest America, Fort Wayne, IN. We sell a packaged sugar from Florida Crystals (http://www.floridacrystals.com/ ) , which has on the label ‘Demerara Sugar’. It is very misleading because the sugar is grown in Florida.
Only if the consumer reads the fine print, will he find the name Demerara refers to the location in Guyana.
Is it legal for them to use that name? Couldn’t something be done?
Yours faithfully,
Karl Teekaram
