Dear Editor,
The members and executive of the Pattensen Community development Council have been trying to have a meeting with His Excellency the President for some time without any success. We have some very sensitive matters (regarding housing) that affect our growing community and since February (2007) we have sent a letter to the President asking for an audience, as we’ve been unable to resolve some community matters, that have been the focus of several meetings with the previous minister that had the responsibility of housing and water.
We have to date met a protocol officer attached to the OP who has indicated that a meeting will be scheduled. At this meeting, we had outlined the agenda of the requested meeting with the President, this was earlier in the year when the President was quite busy with his scheduled visits to Japan and the USA.
We are very optimistic that we will get our meeting with the President and we’re confident that he will have our community issues resolved, but the long wait is a concern.
Yours faithfully,
Matthew Moore
Secretary
Pattensen Community
Development Council
