Dear Editor,
On 30th November around 07:05 am a vehicle came into contact with an electrical pole in the vicinity of Main and Fourth Streets, Patentia, West, West Bank Demerara.
The lines from the pole leading to the houses were disturbed leading to the displacement of an attachment at the end of a lead line to my neighbour’s house.
I have informed NCN of the event since I consider it worthy of media attention on the ground that the impact with the pole, which now stands discernibly slanted, could have led to fire and destruction of properties. I also informed GPL by telephone on the evening of the 30th November.
I hope the Hand in Hand Fire Life Insurance Company will note the above since it would have been involved had there been a fire as I hold a fire insurance policy with this company.
I do not have the expertise to say what should be done. GPL will have to visit and make a decision.
As for me and the members of my family we fear the worst since this particular pole is not sensibly positioned to avoid disaster or minimise it.
Yours faithfully,
Krishna Nand Prasad
