Commerce minister Manniram Prashad has commended the Linden Chamber of Industry and Commerce for seeking to expand its business horizons by considering opportunities that may be available in Brazil.
Prashad lauded the group for overcoming the challenges that they faced and pointed out that the luncheon was evidence that a spirit of cooperation obtained, which bodes well for development. Prashad was the guest speaker at the luncheon held under the theme ‘Brazil- The Southern Focus’ a press release from the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce said.
In his address the minister challenged the business community to organise and host a Linden Exposition that would attract people from across the country. He said many overseas-based Guyanese and others visit the country to celebrate the holidays and that it was an ideal time for the business community to take advantage of the opportunity and host the trade fair. Prashad also pointed out that the fair would provide an opportunity to showcase local talent, manufacturers, craft products and successful businesses.
