The Berbice Cricket Board TELENEC 50-over first division cricket competition continued last week-end with five matches in the sixth round.
At Bush Lot, Bermine defeated West Berbice by 69 runs.
After winning the toss and batting, Bermine reached 176-7 from their 40 overs in the rain-affected game.
Dane Benny led the batting with an accomplished 56, whilst national under -19 batsman Eugene La Fleur and Berbice opener Maxie De Jonge supported with 33 and 25 respectively.
Bowling for West Berbice, Kenje Sedoc and Krisendat Ramoo took two wickets apiece for 40 and 26 runs respectively.
In reply, West Berbice were bowled out for 107 in 28.4 overs with only Sedoc offering resistance with the bat with 29.
Medium pacers Julian Moore and De Jonge captured 4-19 and 2-19 respectively.
Albion triumphs by 19 runs
At Albion, visitors Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar were defeated by their hosts Albion Cricket Club by 19 runs.
Albion batted first on winning the toss and were bowled out for 155 from 44.3 overs in another rain affected game.
Manoj Pooranauth, 47, and Ramnarine Chattergoon, 27, led the batting for the home team against the bowling of Renwick Batson (3-20) and Assad Fudadin (3-29) for Rose Hall Town.
In reply, the visitors were dismissed for 136 from 41.5 overs with both Fudadin and Batson leading the batting with 25 and 23 runs respectively.
West Indies under-19 left-arm orthodox bowler, Veerasammy Permaul, led the rout with 4-33 receiving worthy support from Devendra Bishu (3-30) and Sahadeo Somai (2-23).
Police humbled by Young Warriors
Young Warriors humbled Berbice Police by 48 runs in their clash which was reduced to 25 overs at Cumberland.
Sent in, Young Warriors reached 187-9 from their allotted 25 overs with Waheid Edwards, 51, and former West Indies Under-19 opener Richard Ramdeen, 45, leading the way.
Seon Hetymyer and Damodar Daesrath also chipped in with useful contributions of 27 and 26 each.
Albert Sinclair (2-10), Michael Newland (2-27) and Quacy Peters (2-36) were the principal wicket takers for Police who were then bowled out for 139 from 21.2 overs.
Zaheer Moakan scored 52 and, along with Newland, who made 25, tried desperately to carry their team to victory against the bowling of Kwesi Maltay (3-18) and Paul Wintz 3-21.
Rose Hall defeats Blairmont
Rose Hall, Community Centre defeated Blairmont Community Centre by 17 runs at Blairmont.
Rose Hall, sent in, made 141-8 from their 25 overs with Daryl Munroe (35), Balram Samaroo (34) and Sanjay Khan (24*) the principal scorers.
Horace Mc Donald took 2-26 bowling for Blairmont who were then held to 124-8 in their 25 overs.
Vejai Heeralall scored 22 as Vejai Mohabir grabbed 3-24 and Samaroo 2-17 bowling for Rose Hall.
Port Mourant mauled Skeldon by 138 runs
Port Mourant Cricket Club playing at home, defeated Skeldon by 138 runs to record the largest margin of victory in the round.
Batting first, Port Mourant rattled up 244-5 with Dillon Samaroo (52), Homchand Pooran (49), Rajendra Latcha (46) and Roopnarine Ramgobin (43), the principal scorers. Sherwin Murray took 3-34 and Sherwin Hope 2-60 bowling for Skeldon who were the routed for 106 from 30 overs.
Neville Williams made 25 against the tight Port Mourant bowling led by Latcha 4-22, Pooran 2-18 and Yogendra Harrinarine 2-34.
