olice have launched an investigation into yet another armed attack on an overseas-based Guyanese in the Campbellville area.
According to reports, around 11 am yesterday 63-year-old Mohamed Amir was attacked by a lone gunman while at 89 Sheriff Street, Campbellville. Stabroek News understands that the overseas-based Guyanese was visiting his tenants who operate a shop at the said location. The gunman calmly walked into the shop, ordered a drink, consumed it, then stuck-up Amir.
Reports are that Amir tried to flee to the back of the yard, with the gunman in hot pursuit, but he fell. The bandit then gun butted the man in his head several times and rifled through his pockets. The gunman reportedly made off with the man’s passport and US driver’s licence, but did not find a sum of money he had stashed in another pocket.
Amir sustained several lacerations to his face from the attack. A report was made to the Kitty Police Station and investigations are ongoing.
On Monday two gunmen grabbed $215,000 and a licensed firearm from overseas-based Guyanese after invading his Seaforth Street, Campbellville home. Fifty-nine-year-old Roy Indal was robbed after the gunmen, posing as prospective tenants, barged into his home.
