Local singer turned fashion designer Carlos `Lucky B’ Williams was forced to postpone his Ms Bikini Television Series, which was scheduled for December 1, after HJ Entertainment – Channel 72 suddenly went off air giving no indication when its operations would resume.
The premiere of the series, which is all about finding a cover girl for what Lucky B calls his 2008 Stush Clothing Line calendar, will now be held on Monday on HBTV Channel 9 and has been cut down to one week instead of three. The show will run every night from Monday to Saturday.
Photos of 12 models posing in swimsuits designed by Lucky B will make up the various segments and the ladies, who are between the ages of 17 and 27 will be eliminated via the text messaging method. The public will judge the competition and will choose the eventual winner – the cover girl.
On Sunday December 23, the winner will be announced at the official launch of the clothing line scheduled to be held at Club Tunnel, Main Street Plaza Hotel.
In a recent interview with The Scene, the local designer said he is currently putting things in place to have the media from the Caribbean and further afield at Club Tunnel on December 23.
Asked about the sudden postponement of the series, Lucky B said everything was on track because he went into the television station and plans were made and the cost of airing the programme was discussed.
He said he suddenly realised that the channel was off air and he was later told that this would be the case for a while. He was not given a definite date when the operations would resume so he decided to move the series to another channel.
In terms of the launching, Lucky B said the focus would be on entertainment pieces created from denim. To add flavor to the designs, he said, red thread was used to stitch the pieces together.
“Stush will always use red in its pieces because that is my focus
