Kennav HDL Limited yesterday donated a 14″ colour television set to a 12-year-old deaf mute girl, fulfilling her Christmas wish.
Lifeline Counselling Services, which learned of the child’s long-held yearning through her grandmother who is her guardian, had approached several local businesses for assistance. Kennav HDL responded positively handing over the TV to the child and her grandmother yesterday morning.
The grandmother said the child’s craving for the visuals offered by TV had led her to venture into places which put her at risk. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kennav for the donation and to Lifeline for making it happen. According to the grandmother, the 12-year-old formerly attended the David Rose School, but has not gone for close to a year now because of financial challenges, particularly transportation costs. Her New Year wish is for a sponsor for her grandchild’s education.
