A taxi-driver accused of sexually assaulting a woman on two occasions will spend Christmas in jail after Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle remanded him when he appeared before her to answer to the charges.
Eon Clarke also known as Eon Charles, of 16 D’Urban Street, Lodge, was not required to plead to two charges of carnal knowledge of a female without consent and buggery, when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that on November 20, at Georgetown, the accused raped the woman. Two days later, it is alleged, he buggered the same woman. The matter was reported and following police investigations, he was arrested and charged.
The accused told the court that he is married and has four children.
Police Prosecutor Denise Griffith said that the parties are not known to each other.
Clarke was ordered to appear in Court Six on January 25.
