Dear Editor,
There is something magical about Christmas. It seems to momentarily transform us into caring persons as we exchange and provide gifts for those in need. Countries like the USA have changed the word ‘Christmas’ to ‘Happy Holidays’ in some states and so too have some stores to appease their secular population, but though I have seen a few ads here labelled ‘Happy Holidays,’ we have not really removed the Christ from Christmas . The holiday embraces all the other religions in terms of being celebrated.
Regrettably, we fail to carry over the festive spirit into the New Year, and that is when we can acknowledge that we have lost the scripture message. Let us not forget the child whom we favoured in December or the relative we embraced. Let Christ remain forever in Christmas and beyond.
Yours faithfully,
