The decomposing body of a man was discovered in his Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara home last evening and it is unclear under what circumstances he died.
The man was identified as Yansen Higgins, who is said to be in his 50’s. Stabroek News understands that the dead man’s nephew discovered his body at just about 8 pm yesterday. Higgins lived alone. His body was said to have been in his bed and what appeared to be bloodstains were on the floor and on the bed.
A neighbour, Joy Clarke told Stabroek News that she had last seen Higgins alive on Christmas Day at a shop and he had appeared to be healthy and was laughing and making jokes.
