Dear Editor,
I wish to commend the Commissioner-General for his professional approach in dealing with the surveillance camera issue at the post office. I agree that there is need for stringent measures to be implemented in our postal system to stamp out the scourge of drug trafficking.
However, it is noteworthy that the Commissioner-General should point out that all stakeholders including the GPOC attended a forum quite recently and strategies were implemented to ensure an efficient and effective system is implemented. I gather that there were set protocols set out at that forum so, my question is, is the Chairman of the GPOC above the law? Or is he arrogant?
Mr Edghill cannot use the customs officers as his scapegoats and at the same time tarnish their image. The Commissioner-General was right to demand a public apology and I wish to remind the Chairman that the nation is watching to see if indeed you can do some introspection and respond with your apology.
Yours faithfully,
Sharon Smith
