Police in West Coast Demerara are investigating a suspected poisoning case involving an Essequibo teenager who died in hospital a day after a heavy drinking session with friends.
Devon Thomas, aged 17, died at the West Demerara Regional Hospital yesterday. He was being treated for suspected poisoning, according to reports.
Thomas reportedly had a long drinking session with friends on Friday and fell ill later in the day and was subsequently rushed to the hospital.
