Allegedly chopped man on New Year’s Day

A 33-year-old man who allegedly chopped another about the body several times was yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.

Lawrence Rambarran of Port Kaituma was not required to plead to the charge of attempted murder when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on New Year’s Day in the North West District, Essequibo, he wounded Ronald Allen with intent to commit murder.

Reports are that Allen was chopped on his neck and back and is still hospitalized. he matter continues on February 5.
