Dear Editor,
One of the areas that was getting a rationed supply of water has not been getting any for the past couple of days. Cumberland in East Canje is currently without a potable supply of water, and I would like to know why this fate has once again fallen on the residents in this area. GWI it’s a new year, will we still be getting a rationed water supply this year?
The Skeldon Sugar Factory and its power plant were commissioned the other day. I guess we were expecting too much relief from Skeldon. Power outages graced Berbice on days before Christmas, Old Year’s Night, and here and there during the day. The point is that Berbicians are getting no relief.
So all of you: prepare for takeoff! We will be soaring in a few months, hopefully. Berbice is about to take off – or so they say! We shall all realize sooner or later that those kinds of things only happen in fairytales. Somebody, please wake me up when we get there.
