Five men are in custody after police on Sunday intercepted over four kilos of cocaine in a suitcase at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) that was being processed for an outbound flight to the US.
According to a police press release, around 11.50 pm on Sunday, officers of the Police Narcotics Branch intercepted a suitcase containing four kilogrammes, 318 grammes of cocaine at the CJIA that was being processed for loading on to a flight bound for the JFK International Airport in New York.
Five men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with investigations.
