President Bharrat Jagdeo announced yesterday that a Board of Inquiry has been set up to investigate the allegations of torture made against the Guyana Defence Force (GDF).
Retreating from his earlier “don’t’ waste my time” position, the President said at a media conference at his New Garden Street office that his administration was taking the torture claims against the GDF seriously.
