Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday released two men on $30,000 bail each when they appeared before her in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on a joint charge of robbery with aggravation.
Shirland Wilson, a 43-year-old miner of Supply, Mahaica and Troy Heliger, 31, of Walker Terrace both pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to them. It is alleged that on Thursday at Georgetown, being together with others, the duo robbed Seelall Doodnauth of a $2,000 wallet containing $5,640 and a Seiko wristwatch valued $10,000.
Wilson told the court that he works in the interior as a miner and expressed concern that he was implicated in the robbery.
