A 16-year-old boy appeared before Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday accused of breaking into a house and stealing $100,000 in articles and he was later released on $40,000 bail.
The boy, who was barefooted, pleaded not guilty to the charge of break and enter and larceny when it was read to him in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that on January 4 at Georgetown, he broke and entered the home of Hugh Hodge and stole two gas bottles, a tool kit, two belt heads, an iron, two jerseys, a water pump, a lamp and $10,000, together valued at $100,000.
The police prosecutor told the court that nothing was recovered while Hodge who was present said he saw the teen leaving his house.
The matter continues on February 5 in Court Six.
