A 33-year-old man charged with the rape of an 18-year-old girl was remanded to prison yesterday when he appeared before Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.
Gavin Doris of 169 Freeman Street, East La Penitence was not required to plead to the indictable charge for the offence, which allegedly took place on January 11.
The accused, a security guard and the father of two, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates Court without a lawyer and said nothing in his defence.
The case will be called again on January 29 at Court Five.
