The Orca Speed Swim Club in collaboration with the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) will host an inter-club meet on Saturday at the Colgrain Pool, Camp Street.
The meet is open to all clubs and will feature over 30 events in the six age-group categories.
The categories are eight years and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18-years and over.
Apart from the FINA (the international swimming body) rules which will be in effect for the meet, swimmers are allowed to participate in any amount of events and clubs will be given the opportunity of entering any amount of swimmers in a single event, on condition that only the top two finishers from that club will be awarded points.
The event is expected to get underway at 12:30pm with the individual medleys, but swimmers will be given a chance to warm up approximately one hour before the event begins.
There will also be a technical meeting held on that same day at 11:00 am at the Colgrain pool.
All competitors are required to pay $100.00 for each event they register for while there will be a late fee of $300.00.
Entry fees will be collected today at the Colgrain pool between the hours of 6pm-6.30pm.
