The Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) will run off its first event of the year tomorrow when athletes countrywide take to the trail for the AAG’s annual cross country race sponsored by Woodpecker Products Trophies and Sports a press release from the AAG stated yesterday.
The five-mile event will take place tomorrow at 3pm at the Kuru Kuru Training College’s trail on the Linden Soesdyke Highway, the same route as last year.
Although clubs and school athletes will be out in their numbers, the race will also feature some of the top athletes from the military organisations. Meanwhile, the AAG will hold two important meetings today at Olympic House at Peter Rose and Church Streets Queenstown.
The first meeting which is scheduled to begin at 10am, will focus on the National Sixth Form Championships programmed for March 7 at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda.
According to the release, representatives of participating schools are requested to attend.
The other meeting which starts at 1pm will be for officials of the Annual Linwest Games which is scheduled for March 18 at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
