I thank you for offering me the opportunity of responding to the already published letter captioned “Our father did not give this property to the PNC” (08.01.21) allegedly from family members of the late Mr David Singh.
The Party values the contribution of the late Mr David Arthur Singh and indeed that of his wife Ms Thelma Singh, which has served to enrich its fifty years history. This is why it is quite painful for the party to enter into any public disputation over this matter. I however wish to thank the letter writer/s for adverting to that portion of my letter which states “The Party records in relation to this property clearly show that it was a gift to the Party by your late husband David Arthur Singh. Notwith-standing the above, the Party is not unmindful of your representation and is actively considering this matter. I will be in touch with you again after the Central Executive Committee concludes its active consideration of the matter”.
This is still the position of the Party and I hope it will not be long before the decision of the Central Executive Committee is communicated to Ms Thelma Singh as promised.
