A 26-year-old man who allegedly raped a woman he met at a creek was yesterday remanded to prison when he was brought before Magis-trate Melissa Robertson-Ogle in the Georgetown Magis-trate’s Court.
Ryan Curtis Noble of Lot 502 Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara was not required to plead to the charge.
It is alleged that on Monday, at the Kingston Seawall, Noble had carnal knowledge of a 23-year-old female without her consent.
In Noble’s defence his attorney, Mohammed Zafar, told the court that his client had met the woman at a creek on Sunday afternoon and eight hours later she accompanied him to the seawall where she gave her consent to what transpired between them. Zafar’s application for bail on behalf of his client was refused. The matter continues on February 8 in Court 6.
