Dear Editor,
Last Sunday I attended the meeting at the Mon Repos School where President Bharrat Jagdeo spoke to residents in outrage at the slaying of the Lusignan eleven.
The following day while viewing the Caribbean News broadcast on Channel 7, I was utterly surprised that this News Agency showed footage of one individual who requested that the Leader of the Opposition take over the Presidency.
This story, submitted by Gordon Moseley of Capitol News as the correspondent, omitted the other comments which would have added contextual value and balance to his piece.
Moseley left out the footage which showed those hundreds of us in attendance booing such a comical and silly suggestion by this one man. After his comment, President Jagdeo asked the crowd whether they preferred Corbin to run the country and this was met with a resounding No!oooooo No!oooooo from the crowd. The rejection and relegation was so intense that the man left the building as the heat was building up on him by the crowd.
Yours faithfully,
Martin Benn
