Dear Editor,
Since last June I filed a summons for goods supplied at my business place at Good Hope, Essequibo Coast against a defendant whose father is a serving member of the Guyana Police Force. The summons was taken by me to that station and I know for a fact that it was served at his home where he resides with his father. But the big problem is that from then to now a return of service is yet to reach the court.
On the same day the summons was served the defendant’s father contacted me by phone to say that he would pay the money claimed on the summons against his son by the next July month end. The money is still to be paid and nothing further can be done until the return of service reaches the court.
I have attended court no less than 15 times wasting precious time and money on traveling.
Yours faithfully,
Chandrika Persaud
