Duo placed on bail over forged travel documents

Two women were on Monday granted bail in the sum of $170,000 on charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and the uttering of forged documents, when they appeared before Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.

Shana Shivnauth, 22, and Mena Mangal, 26, were arrested at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri on February 1. The two friends were alleged to have in their possession forged Inter-Caribbean travel documents with the false signature of Deputy Superintendent of Immigration Carol Primo.

Both of them pleaded not guilty to the charge. The prosecution did not object to bail and they were placed on $85,000 for each offence.
