Dear Editor,
I, like all other straight-thinking Guyanese, am deeply saddened by the recent savagery in Lusignan. I am intrigued by the bounty put up for the capture of the alleged self-confessed perpetrator of this crime. What is needed is greater and more organized police intelligence instead of this kind of ad hoc and fanciful response.
I am also propelled to remind us of where the last set of escapees were found living (comfortably) while numerous searches were being conducted in Buxton and the ruling party remained adamant that the criminals were being housed and protected there. None of the “searches” produced any of the criminals until it was revealed they were actually living near the then Minister of Home Affairs. So, if I may suggest, is it remotely possible then that the searches should be done, not in Buxton, but possibly in, or around, similar environs to that aforementioned?
Yours faithfully,
Helen Moses
