Dear Editor,
I refer to the letter by Mr. Vincent Alexander captioned “We must try to understand how our society has produced ruthless killers” (08.02.02).
I believe much of the criminality goes back to the violence, nepotism and corruption spawned in the Burnham era as part of the corrupt design engineered by Mr Burnham and his cohorts to gain and hold on to power by any means necessary.
The corruption took hold and spread in some cases to the children of the worshippers of the Kabaka from the one seed that they were asked to plant on polling day.
Some who are now engaged in crime are the products of the violence and corruption planted then.
Mr Alexander should not ask the Indians to join him in his search for answers that are plain to see as Indians cower in fear.
Yours faithfully,
Michael Tannassee
