Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton remanded two men to prison on Wednesday, when they appeared before her charged with possession of narcotics.
Jerwayne Williams of 207 Da Silva Street, Newtown, Kitty allegedly had in his possession 1,346 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. He was reportedly found with the illegal substance at Bartica.
Meanwhile, Michael Gobin of Dunburg Village, Wakenaam was found with 2.5 grammes of cocaine on February 2 at Hadfield Street, Georgetown.
Both of the accused pleaded not guilty.
Williams’ matter was transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court for February 20, while Gobin returns to Court Five on March 31.
