Police yesterday issued a wanted bulletin for Alex Barker called ‘Amkabima’, the ex-husband of Alpha Hotel owner Roseanne Hall, who they believe could assist in investigations into her disappearance.
The bulletin which was issued yesterday stated that the man, who is between 27 and 28 years old, is slim in build and his hair is cut low. According to the police the man also sports a pencil-shaped moustache.
The police are asking anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Barker to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 225-2700, 226-2917, 226-4585, 225-2317, 227-4065, 226-6978, 225-3650, 225-8196, 227-1270, 227-1611, 227-1149, 225-6941-3, 225-6945, 225-6946, 333-2151-4, 229-2019, 229-2700-5, 268- 2222, 268-2329, 268-2328, 444-3512, 444-3351, 771-5004, 911 or the nearest police station.
The police have said that all information will be treated with strict confidence.
This newspaper understands that the woman’s husband was arrested on Wednesday evening and taken to the Brickdam police station where he remained in custody yesterday assisting police with investigations. Stabroek News was also told that the female relative who was being held by the police also remains in custody. Hall was last seen leaving a hairdressing salon on Wednesday last.
Her chauffeur, who also happens to be her ex-husband, picked her up and she went back to her hotel where she collected $22,000 from the cashier and left with the man, her husband had said.
Her husband Romeo Rockerfeller had told this newspaper that Barker had contacted him and informed of the location of the woman’s car which was found at Parika earlier in the week.
He had also said that he saw Barker boarding a vessel to Parika and had previously told him that he was looking for the woman. Police have since been searching for the man.
Barker was also employed by Hall as the hotel’s painter and had told staff, a day after she disappeared that he had received a power of attorney document signed by the woman which gave him control over the business until she returned.
He also made changes at the hotel, fired staff and hired new ones.
