Dear Editor,
It is imperative that our politicians stop their petty wrangling and finger pointing and realize that they are walking on egg shells. If handled improperly the situation could worsen as farmers in Buxton depend on farming as their only form of income.
Those honest hardworking farmers suddenly have no work but still need to feed their families and may bend to pressure put on them by criminals to join them. Those politicians accusing Buxton of being a place of criminals may find that their actions would actually make their accusations true: it is called by psychologists a ‘self fulfilling prophecy’.
It should also be noted that this move does not only affect Buxtonian farmers but also farmers from Friendship to BV/Triumph. Surely these farmers could be allowed to farm certain crops that do not grow above 3 feet high. They need to earn their livelihood and Buxtonian farmers cannot be expected to ask for compensation from an authority with whom there is no good relationship
Yours faithfully,
