Gunmen last evening shot up a vehicle belonging to a Swiss House Cambio manager during a minutes-long assault outside the parking lot at Buddy’s Pool Hall, injuring a security guard in the process and making off with $1.2M.
The rifle-wielding trio grabbed a bag containing over $1.2M in local and foreign currency from the vehicle on Sheriff Street, belonging to the manager, Mohamed Hussein of Dundee, Mahai-cony, West Coast Berbice and also shot up the fence of Lens, a store near to Buddy’s. Police responded shortly after but were unable to track down the gunmen who according to reports seem to have trailed Hussein from his Water Street business location to the night club.
Speaking to reporters minutes after the shooting, Hussein said that he had gone to the Buddy’s Gym around 5:45 last evening to exercise. He said he parked his blue pick-up GJJ 4904 in the parking lot at the business place and went in the gym. He told reporters that around 6:30 he was busy exercising when he heard gunshots ring out. “I ran to the back of the gym and hid, but the shots continued,” the 33-year-old manager said.
