Dear Editor,
So, “Obama is glowing and has enormous momentum” . So glad to hear that – America is in need of a change with the sweeping of a new broom. But I have a feeling that others – perhaps the delegates – have an ace up their sleeve and will produce it at the last moment. It may well be a case of being lulled into a sense of “enormous” security and then….. I have a feeling that America, as a whole, is not quite ready for an Obama.
And if, as suggested in one article I read yesterday, whichever of the two candidates wins the nomination and makes it to the White House, the other may be offered the vice- presidency, I cannot see Barack Obama willingly agreeing to be anyone’s No.2. He is a very strong leader and, as Jesse Jackson once observed, “Strong leaders do not make good employees.” Or, for that matter, good followers. Hillary is one tough lady and she and Barack will never be able to work together as a harmonious team.
I hope I’m wrong.
Yours faithfully,
Geralda Dennison
