The Central Corentyne Cham-ber of Commerce (CCCC) on Wednesday pledged $100,000 to the ‘B’ Division police to help with the rehabilitation of the Felix Austin Police College at Adventure, Corentyne where new ranks would be trained.
This move came after Commander/Assistant Commissioner Clinton Conway appealed to members of the chamber to assist in “getting the building going” in an effort to train more ranks for Berbice.
During a meeting with the CCCC and the Berbice top cops at Rose Hall on Wednesday, president of the chamber, Poonai Bhogroog announced that they would “take up the challenge” and pledged the funds to start the project.
Conway said one of the constraints the police in Berbice are facing is a “shortage of manpower
