Diana King defeated Lloyd Fung-A-Fat in straight games to claim victory in the Open category of the Bounty Farm Mash handicap squash tournament Saturday night at the Georgetown Club courts.
King, starting at +10 overcame Lloyd +8 17-16, 15-12.
Eleven year-old Nyron Joseph pulled-off a remarkable upset over Mary Fung-A-Fat to win the A category in one of the most exciting games of the tournament.
Joseph claimed his first tournament victory by running down and retrieving every ball the former under-13 Caribbean champion threw at him.
Fung-A-Fat had a severe -10 handicap to overcome with Joseph starting five points ahead of her (-5) and lost 10-15, 15-11, 2-15.
At the closing ceremony of the tournament Daniel Persaud was awarded the sportsmanship prize while Brian Yong was adjudged Most Improved Player.
