The Guyana Sevashram Sangha has announced the programme for the Maha Shiva Raatri festival which will be celebrated at the Cove and John Ashram.
In a press release the group said the programme begins at 5.30 am on March 6 with the procession of the Holi Tulsi plant and the Sri Guru Arti. This will be followed by the beginning of the “Incessant chanting (24 hrs)” of the Mahamantra and the Naam Shivaya Yagna at 8.30 am.
The Havan Sri Guru Puja and Aartie will begin at 10 am followed by the sharing of Prasaadam at noon; a discussion on the Ramayan at 2 pm; the Shiva Raatri Vrat Puja at 6pm; 9pm, at midnight and at 3 am; a Bhajan session at 7 pm and a show at 9.30 pm.
The release said the Mahamantra chanting should end at 5.30 am on Friday and the Aartie should conclude at 6 am. All devotees are invited to join in observance of prayers and penance.
