Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle on Friday handed down a three-year sentence to a man after he admitted to stealing goods from a Bourda Market stall.
Damian DeFreitas, 28, of 23 George Street, pleaded guilty to simple larceny when the charge was read to him at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court. He was accused of stealing goods valued at $440,000. DeFreitas told the court that he sold the items for $13,000.
