Team Digicel, captured last Sunday’s Digicel sponsored Paint Ball shooting competition organized by the Guyana National Rifle Association (GNRA) at the Guyana Scouts Association ground, Woolford Avenue.
The team, comprising Kalpesh Joshi, Roland Fanfair, Daniel Sugrim and Marvin Samaru, defeated Hitmen which included Marcel Profitt, Garfield Pearson, Gregory Barnes and Rory Daley in the final.
Rampage, made up of Troy Parboo, Nikita Clarke, Alan Lowe and Dominique Van Sluytman placed third.
GNRA Handgun captain Dale Hing, said the tournament had attracted 14 teams and a large turnout of spectators.
The competing teams were the Junkyard Dogs, Dynasty, Warriors, Saints Scouts, Delta Force, NT1, NT2, Fantastic Four, Underdogs, Digicel, Rampage, Jimbo, Shootemup and Hitmen.
The shoot was the second major event of the Hand Gun section for 2008, the first a few weeks ago was a Trial Paint Ball tournament which set the stage for last Sunday’s event.
